Why it matters
Online discoverability for clinics in Pakistan
Google's Maps algorithm uses three main signals to rank clinics in the local pack: Relevance (does your business match what the patient searched for?), Distance (how close is your clinic to the patient?), and Prominence (how well-known and trusted is your clinic online?). You can't change your location, but you can dramatically improve relevance and prominence — and those two factors are what separate the top-3 from the also-rans.
Relevance is primarily controlled through your Google Business Profile. If your category says 'Health' instead of 'Dental clinic', Google won't show you for searches like 'dentist Karachi DHA'. If your services aren't listed, you won't appear for service-specific searches. If your description doesn't contain the words patients search, you're missing relevance signals. Every field in your profile is an optimization opportunity.
Prominence comes from three sources: reviews (count, rating, and recency), citations (consistent appearances across Pakistani health directories, your website, and online listings), and your website's authority. A clinic with 50 genuine reviews, accurate information across 30+ directories, and a website with relevant content will consistently outrank a clinic that has none of these — regardless of which clinic is better in real life.
