Why it matters
Online discoverability for clinics in Pakistan
Meta's content moderation AI is aggressive — and it doesn't distinguish between a legitimate medical clinic with a decade of posts and a spam account. Accounts get permanently disabled for reasons as minor as a reported post, a boosted ad that Meta's AI flags, a copyright claim on a background music track, or even mass-reporting by a competitor. Appeals rarely succeed. The account, the followers, the DM history, the booking links — all gone.
This has happened to real Pakistani clinics. Dermatology clinics with 30K followers who built their entire patient acquisition strategy around Instagram have lost everything overnight. The problem isn't just losing the followers — it's that every patient who found your clinic through Instagram can no longer find you at all, because you built your presence on rented land.
There's a second, increasingly important dimension: AI trust signals. When AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI Overview evaluate how credible and established your business is, they look at consistent signals across the web — your website, your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your mentions on trusted directories. A new Instagram account with 10 followers (which is what you'd start over with after suspension) is a significantly weaker trust signal than a 3-year-old Google Business Profile with 80 reviews. AI doesn't care about follower counts. It cares about consistent, multi-source authority.
The fix isn't to abandon Instagram — it's to stop treating it as your primary patient acquisition channel and build the presence that AI trusts and that no one can take away: your website, your Google presence, your search visibility.
