Why it matters
Online discoverability for doctors in Pakistan
Profile errors often occur because directories prioritise scale over accuracy. A hospital uploads a consultant list; a platform auto-creates profiles; photos may attach to the wrong PMDC number; two doctors with similar names may merge into one listing. The doctor may only discover the error when a patient mentions it or when a colleague finds their photo under someone else's name.
Google may compound the problem by surfacing aggregator pages in search results and Knowledge Panels. A patient searching 'Dr. [Name] cardiologist Karachi' may see imagery pulled from a third-party source that ranked first or contained structured data errors. Without a canonical owned profile — your website, your verified Google presence, your correct provider login — incorrect aggregator data may become the default public record.
Correction requires both reactive formal requests and proactive ownership. Reactive: document every incorrect listing, submit platform correction forms per their published process, request hospital IT updates, and escalate through official support with PMDC credentials attached. Proactive: publish authoritative photos and bios on your own domain, link Google Business Profile to that domain, and build consistent NAP across the web so Google has a trusted primary source.
